Couple of things

- The Athens Banner-Herald reports from the Oconee County economic development meeting, and my summary and thoughts are here.

- Myra Blackmon has some broader thoughts on regionalism, and this figures to be a recurring theme as my column for this week will deal with the same topic.

- Check out the SPLOST hearings to see what's going on in the process.

- A reasonable editorial on the possibility of a plastic bag tax, though it opens by equating it to the historic preservation discussions which is off-base.

- Rep. DuBose Porter - who I like for governor - made the rounds in Athens-Clarke County yesterday, and I was fortunate enough to hear his thoughts during a roundtable discussion last night. It was nice to see him campaigning in the area, and here's hoping he makes his way back soon.
