Via Blake, Brian Kemp pulled in an impressive fundraising haul in his bid for Secretary of State.
And while I only feel marginally dirty linking to Red State, it does point out some local connections for Kemp.
Not surprisingly Sen. Bill Cowsert, Kemp's brother-in-law, endorsed him (lest they have an awkward family get-together in the future), as did Sen. Ralph Hudgens who is seeking the Republican nomination for Insurance Commissioner.
Locally, influential University of Georgia booster Don Leeburn is serving on Kemp's business advisory committee, while a host of other locally elected officials have pledged support including Watkinsville Mayor Jim Luken, Watkinsville City Councilman Brian Brodrick, Oconee County Commissioners Jim Luke, Margaret Hale and Chuck Horton, Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry and Oconee County Clerk of Court Angela Watson.
