Rationality in short supply

Earlier today, in response to my post about an opt-out clause for a public insurance option, Hillary emailed me the following ...

Are you suggesting we live in a state ruled by rationality?

I responded that I felt the public option would work, and that state after state would want to opt-in rather than opt-out to achieve costs savings.

Then I came across State Sen. Chip Rogers tell a Congressional subcommittee that government needed to 'get out of the way' when it came to disaster relief in order to 'let the economy be free' ... so maybe she's right.
